Well. That was quite a live night. A lot happened. To recap:
Vote #1
This was a vote that was completely controlled by Spencer. The plan was a vote on Devon. Simple.
Then Brandon found the hidden immunity idol. That's when shit flipped. The vote got moved around enough to where Brandon got Sam worked up and they decided to shift the vote onto Grace. This is because they speculate that Grace might have it, with Devon as the back-up person they think have it. They make a very smart move to blindside Grace, if she has the idol... which she fucking does. Homegirl was read in seconds by Brandon. Props. Only problem is Torry and Spencer need Grace to get Sam out. So they have to protect their investment. They save her and flip their votes to Devon. They can disguise this as a prop because they had intel he has the idol.
Honestly, this was a brilliant move by Spencer. He got to have an opportunity to take out TWO top tier players. Spencer's plan was to go after Sam next and EVERYONE was enthusiastic to the point of staunch paranoia of asking each other every five minutes if this was a real deal. Anyway, vote one, Devon goes home.
Vote #2
After damage control from the Devon vote, Jessie, Brandon and Sam try to figure out what the fuck just happened. Spencer is rallying the troops to vote out Sam, then we have the immunity challenge. Sam absolutely smashes everyone and wins immunity. They already had Brandon as the back-up plan because they both knew those two were inseparable. If they can't cut Sam, they try to slow her down.
The messiest and worst part of this scramble before the vote is Sam and Brandons choice to tell Jessie to vote for... Alex? No one else knew about this plan. She pulled Jessie into a group chat with Torry and Spencer to vote for Alex or some shit. Fucking group chats. Brandon and Sam cook up this side deal with Alex and Torry to go after Spencer. So... they leave Jessie out because, because? To test her loyalty... even though she's voted with you the last few times? I think Sam got drunk with power and paranoia and just thought she didn't need to be brought into this because she wanted this to be HER move. It was sloppy and such a heavy consequence. Jessie does not care for Sam after seeing how careless she treated her and she broke out into tears after tribal.
Best current placement to worst:
Spencer
It goes without saying that the player last round was Spencer. He absolutely crushed this live night. Both votes were his and he is so good at repairing or connecting with people after he does them dirty. People like him and respect his game. He will be a target in the back or front of everyones brains.
Jessie
I feel like we will look back at this round as the moment Jessie becomes an active threat to win this game. Think about this. She is beloved by the cast. No one has a bad thing to say about her. She's knowledgable on Survivor, is sweet as can be and since no one has really got to know her yet, her stock is going nowhere but up from this point in the game. Now that she's exposed how she felt used by everyone, the entire tribe is guilted and not with malice, but with genuine reasons. She's a student of Survivor and I think these next few rounds can be hers. Spencer told Torry he wants Jessie next to him in the final with her. I guarantee that Alex and Grace would scoop her up. Sam loves her. I think Jessie locked in a spot at FTC and her resume is starting tonight.
Grace
Grace had a decent round. I want to give her a better score here, but she got paranoid again and told Devon nearly EVERYTHING about him going home. Like, Spencer swooped in her DMs at the right second to steer her clear and convince her the plan is real. Grace, you get paranoid at the drop of a hat and it keeps getting your allies cut... but you're still here. The vote was moved off of you and you were welcomed into a GREAT voting block for your game. Sometimes it's nice to be on bottom.
Alex
Alex. I feel as though you gave up this past round. You sounded resigned, like death was at your door. Sure, you got a vote tonight. Get your head back in the game!
Torry
Torry. This LA trip hurt your game, so it's not exactly your fault. It was untimely. You missed some important conversations. There were a lot of moving pieces and you were being caught up by mostly Spencer. It's time for you to make a move, girl. Spencer will win if you're sitting next to him. oop
Sam
Oof. Bad round for you, Sam. You were used to pushing names and getting what you want. Neither vote went as you'd hoped (although, you could force the argument that Devon DID go home). Grace was saved, yes. It wasn't Grace they were saving, it was her vote. You are lucky that you rocked the immunity challenge, because it would have been you gone. Good news? You're charming and on the bottom. If you win immunity or make the right connections, you might be provided an opportunity. I'm here for it.
